Along with the Let’s GO entry in the franchise, Meltan and Melmatal became the mascot Mythical Pokemon that Trainers think of from Pokemon GO. Despite the status as a mascot, it’s hard enough to get a hold of just one Meltan, let alone enough for a full evolution.

With so many years beyond the launch of the game though, it’s been long overdue for the Mythical to become much easier to catch. Trainers who are still looking to add a Melmetal to their collection may be in luck with the latest research in Season 10 of Pokemon GO, and we’ll cover other methods for catching Meltan as well.

Pokemon GO – How to Catch Meltan and Melmetal

In Season 10, the easiest way to get a full Melmetal will be to complete the Willow’s Wardrobe Special Research that arrived as part of the Let’s GO event. To get the research, players will have to spend $4.99 in the shop for a ticket, which has become a common trend in the past year for the game. Completing the research will give Trainers an encounter with Melmetal.

For those who don’t want the research, there are only two other options aside from trading. Option one is complete the base Special Research that every Trainer gets in Pokemon GO. Everyone is guaranteed at least one encounter with Meltan in the game. If you have enough Rare Candies, you can use those to evolve it, and that will take 400 candies. Sometimes, in very rare occurrences, Meltan will appear as a reward for major events.

The other option is to play Pokemon Let’s GO and connect your account to the switch. Every week, Trainers will get a Mystery Box to use in Pokemon GO that can attract Meltan. Eventually, you’ll get enough encounters for a Meltan, but you must have the Let’s GO account connected. Otherwise. you’ll be relying on Rare Candy or a Special Research Ticket.
