Will Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Demo Progress Carry Over at Release?

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is releasing February 29, 2024, but if you can’t wait that long, the demo is there to whet your appetite in the meantime. Fortunately, yes, similarly to Final Fantasy XVI, people who play the Fall of a Hero in Nibelheim demo will be able to skip that section of the main game, if they choose to do so.

“These players will also be able to skip past sections covered in the “Fall of a Hero in Nibelheim” demo. Players must ensure their game is fully updated to take advantage of these benefits.”

Square Enix, February 2024

It’s up to you whether or not you play the demo, wait for the game, or play through this section of the game twice. As someone who doesn’t often play demos, and jumps right in, I am so glad that I played through Fall of a Hero in Nibelheim, and you can count me in for part two of the demo, Dawn of a New Era in Junon. The direction that they are going in is fantastic, and I am counting down the days to the release.

Is There a Reward for Completing the Fall of a Hero in Nibelheim FF7 Rebirth Demo?

Oftentimes, completing a demo will provide players with items that they can use in the main game. This is also true of FF7 Rebirth. Completing the demo and making sure the game is updated to the latest version will allow you to obtain the following items.

  • Kupo Charm
  • Survival Set

So, if you’re on the fence, download the FF7 Rebirth demo today. I cannot overstate how worthwhile it is, and exactly how it feels to experience the story again, but from a fresh perspective.
