Don't get caught with the bad weapons.

So far, there are 23 different weapons that players can use in XDefiant across the primary and the secondary categories. Nearly all of them have some redeeming traits within a given loadout, but only a handful of the current weapons can be considered the best in the arena shooter.

With Ranked Play finally out and the competitive nature of a game such as XDefiant, there’s no better time than the present to get a best guns tier list together. More weapons and changes are likely on the way before release, but we can still rank what’s available in our weapon tier list.

XDefiant – Weapon Tier List From Best to Worst

Before we get into the list, it’s important to note that the game will continue to change heavily as development continues. Players will also continue testing the weapons to see which builds work best, and that can affect rankings as well. This list is a mixture of community knowledge and my own personal experience as I’ve played XDefiant. Below are all the weapons ranked from best to worst.

S-Tier Weapons:

  • ACR 6.8 – AR
  • MP7 – SMG
  • TAC-50 – Sniper

A-Tier Weapons:

  • M4A1 – AR
  • AK-47 – AR
  • MP5A2 – SMG
  • Vector .45 ACP – SMG
  • MK 20 SSR – Marksman
  • M870 – Shotgun
  • M44 – Sniper

B-Tier Weapons:

  • P90 – SMG
  • M60 – LMG
  • RPK-74 – LMG
  • SVD – Marksman
  • AA-12 – Shotgun
  • 686 Magnum – Pistol
  • 93R – Pistol
  • D50 – Pistol

C-Tier Weapons:

  • M16A4 – AR
  • Double Barrel – Shotgun
  • M249 – LMG
  • M9 – Pistol
  • M1911 – Pistol

For this list, we skipped the D-Tier because XDefiant doesn’t really have any weapons that are complete trash. Most of the primary weapons are usable at the very least. Pistols are really the only weapons that could be considered a waste of time in some matches. Rather than having terrible guns in XDefiant, there are really powerful weapons at the top that will eventually need to be tuned.
