With Max Payne 3 just two weeks away from release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the excitement for the hard-boiled detective’s return is at a fever pitch. To celebrate the upcoming release, Rockstar Games has announced the first of several plans for downloadable content within the game.
Starting next month and leading well through next fall, Max Payne 3 will have monthly DLC to let you cover new terrain mostly in multiplayer action. The first pack is due in just a few weeks and contains a new “Gang Wars” mode where you’ll take on enemies through a police precinct. Other Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Payne Killer maps will be introduced as well.
Along with that, four additional map packs will be available, drawing players further into the tormented world of Payne. You could buy them individually but Rockstar is also offering a special Season Pass plan, as it did for L.A. Noire last year. Simply drop $30 – a discount from buying the packs individually – and you’ll have access to everything. That’s a pretty good deal considering what’s planned.
