Donkey Kong Country Returns Arrives On Nintendo 3DS On May 24th

You'll be able to "go ape" just in time for the summer.

Donkey Kong Country has been a great franchise for Nintendo, getting its start on the SNES, where Rare set a new standard for graphics and gameplay with the first three entries in the series.  Retro Studios picked up the slack from there with the awesome Donkey Kong Country Returns for Wii, featuring challenging stages and plenty of head-bopping fun for players of all ages.

But now it’s time to “go ape” again, as Nintendo has given a release date to its upcoming Nintendo 3DS port of Donkey Kong country Returns.  It’ll arrive on stores – and more than likely in digital form through the eShop – on May 24th.

The game will feature revamped 3D visuals that immerse you into Donkey Kong’s world, along with a number of levels to keep you on your toes and the classic hop-n-bop gameplay we’ve all come to love over the years.

We’ll have a strategic preview for you soon, but in the meantime, be sure to check out the older games in the series.  And watch out for that Cranky Kong fella.  He got up on the wrong side of the hammock…
