Now that the team working on The Witcher Netflix series has wrapped up most of the filming, the post-production fun begins. Though Netflix showrunner Lauren Hissrich has mentioned a vague 2019 release, we didn't know when exactly the latest adaptation will air. While we still don't have an official confirmation, we do have a leak that suggests a very, very late 2019 launch.

According to Recapped (heads up that it is a very NSFW website), season one is set to debut on December 20th with filming for season 2 rumored for late December, early January 2020. First shared on the Netflix Witcher subreddit, the leak would fall in line with previous statements that the show would be coming late 2019. That being said, it's important to take this report with a massive grain of salt. Not only does the site not list any sources, but their predictions in the past have been more about dumb luck than actual accuracy.

Showrunner Lauren Hissrich has been gleefully transparent throughout the whole production process. She has been very quick to address concerns in the past, very honest with where she is at progression-wise. She's definitely no stranger to working within the realm of Netflix with her previous talents put forth for both Daredevil and The Defenders.

With a tagline of "The Witcher Geralt, a mutated monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts," we can't help but to be completely excited for the upcoming 8 episode-long series! Fans are even warming up to the idea of Cavill as Geralt himself following numerous photos leaked of him on set and during his grueling training regime when getting in tip-top witcher shape.

The upcoming show stars Man of Steel's Henry Cavill as the main protagonist himself, alongside Freya Allan as Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, and Anna Shaffer as Triss Merigold. The author of the books himself is also on board with the project, working as the creative consultant for Hissrich's vision.

Hopefully with the leak, the team over at Netflix will be inspired to share more concrete details.
