IGN have published news that the Mercenaries mode of Resident Evil 5 has already had a patch written for it to include co-op play on the Xbox 360.

The game’s score-attack mode will be soon available to play online with the 360 despite previous reports that it was an offline-only feature. Mercenaries will also provide System Link functionality.
We don’t yet know anything about a PS3 equivalent patch, but if and when we find something, we’ll let you know.
