How Toad Rally Works

Toad Rally is similar to the Super Mario’s World Tour mode, but instead of completing levels and fighting bosses, the game takes pieces of each level you’ve beaten, and chunks them together to create a makeshift course that you and your friends must compete within. The goal in Toad Rally is to acquire the most fans (which are represented by additional Toadstools that appear in the bottom of the screen). The more fans you have, the higher your chances of winning.

Of course, there’s a bit more to the game than just that, so we’re going to break it down even further for those of you who haven’t had a chance to try the game out yet.

How to Win in Toad Rally

Now that you know the basics of what Toad Rally is, it’s time to teach you how to win. Winning in Toad Rally is somewhat complicated. Instead of basing your skill on pure speed alone, the game focuses on how many Toadstools you’ve attracted, how far you’ve made it in the level, and how many coins you have collected during the match. Because of this, you’ll have to focus on several things at once. First, be as quick as possible, but always collect coins and do tricks to earn more style. Pink Coins earn you a lot of points, so make sure to grab those during your run. Also, if you can make it to the black Bowser flag before your opponent, you’ll be rewarded with 10 additional coins.

To perform tricks that gain more fans, you can simply tap the screen when Mario vaults over something. This will shoot him into the air, causing him to spiral around, which earns approval towards your Coin Rush meter. When the Coin Rush meter is full, each trail of coins you come across will be larger, allowing you to collect even more coins.

Simply continue through the level, grabbing coins, Pink coins, defeating enemies, and doing tricks until the timer counts down. At the end of the match Toadette will tally up the scores, and the winner will get all the Toadstools that were attracted added to their population. This will allow you to level up your Kingdom, and unlock new buildings, which can then be purchased using coins you earn through Toad Rally or World Tour.

You can also turn off your opponent’s ghost by pressing their Mii Icon where it says ‘BATTLE’ in the upper right hand corner.

That’s everything you need to know to be successful at Toad Rally. Remember that each race costs you one Toad Rally Ticket, so make sure you don’t spend them all up at once. You can earn more Toad Rally Tickets by gathering all the Pink coins in levels, or by completing the Bonus Games that appear in the buildings you pick up for your Kingdom.
