What would a game called Sniper Elite 3 be without a trophy or achievement for hitting Long Shots throughout its campaign? Luckily for all of us, we don't have to find out, since the developers at 505 Games were kind enough to include that exact challenge. Of course, as with most collectibles or secrets found in games, these opportunities aren't always easy to find. With that in mind, allow us to act as your spotter and help you acquire your target. As for the shot itself, we have faith in your abilities, but you have to pull the trigger. When you're done, read about All Collectible Card Locations.
Mission 1: Siege of Tobruk
You can find this Sniper Nest in the southeast corner of the map, not far from one of your primary objectives requiring you to destroy the Nebelwerfers. Once you get close, the Sniper Nest will show up on your map. Climb up the ladder, enter the nest, then look to the east. You'll see a single soldier standing on the balcony of a broken building. Wait for the sound of your shot to be masked, then take him down.
Mission 2: Gaberoun
As you make your way through this mission, you'll receive an optional objective to disable the searchlight. This is the location of the Sniper Nest where you will take the only Long Shot that Gaberoun has to offer. Once you enter the nest, use your binoculars to look to the southeast, tagging a lone soldier who is high up in a guard tower. There aren't any opportunities to mask the sound of your rifle, so make the shot count.
Mission 3: Halfaya Pass
At one point during the mission, you will come upon a tall tower that has a speaker system next to it. When you're close, you'll be given an optional objective to disrupt communications. Climb to the top of the tower and enter the Sniper Nest. Use your binoculars to look to the west, tagging a lone soldier who is to the right of your primary objective. Wait for the sound of the speaker system to mask your shot and kill your far away foe to complete the Long Shot.
Mission 4: Fort Rifugio
When the mission begins, you'll find a Sniper Nest to the east of your starting location. Enter this nest and take out your binoculars. Look high up to a series of windows to the north. Tag the soldier who is standing in the third window from the right, then wait for the sound of the sabotaged generator to mask your shot. Once he's dead, you'll be done with the only Long Shot of this mission.
Mission 5: Siwa Oasis
The Sniper Nest you're looking for is on the far north end of the level. If you're not sure where it is, go north and then use your map. It should pop up. Climb up two sets of ladders to reach the nest, enter it and then look to the cliffs to the southeast. Take out the only soldier on the cliffs to complete the shot.
Mission 6: Kasserine Pass
From your mission starting point, pull up your map and look at the large mountain in the middle of the area. On top of that mountain is a Sniper Nest, and that's where you're taking the Long Shot from. Head that way and enter the nest, then use your binoculars to tag a target high up in the cliffs to the southeast. He should be about 240 meters away. Take him out to complete the mission's only Long Shot.
Mission 7: Pont Du Fahs Airfield
Head to the very far northeast end of the airfield, where you'll notice a Sniper Nest marked on your map. Enter the nest, then look to the south, far off into the desert and up on a hill. Tag the only solder that's up there, then take him out to complete this mission's 600 meter plus Long Shot.
Mission 8: Ratte Factory
Just after completing the first part of your objective to destroy the power transformers on each level, enter the nearby Sniper Nest. It's actually on the same level, just to the southwest of the objective. Follow the tunnel until you emerge on a cliff, then look way up and to the northeast. You'll see a lone soldier standing on the edge of the cliff. Kill him to complete the Long Shot and unlock A Shot in the Dark, a trophy and achievement for completing all of Sniper Elite 3's Long Shots.
