Ghosts ’N Goblins is one of the most difficult video games in history. You need expert reflexes, knowledge about the different enemy patterns and maybe a little bit of luck to prevent all those zombies from turning the heroic knight, Arthur, into a pile of bones. Even if you manage to beat Ghosts ’N Goblins, the game forces you to do it again to achieve the true ending.
Turns out, you can play Ghosts ‘N Goblins on the new NES Classic Edition system that comes out on November 11, and similar to other games included with the console, there’s a cheat! Below is a code that will let you choose any level that you want in the game, so go ahead and jump from stage 1A to stage 7. We won’t tell anyone.
Ghosts ‘N Goblins Level Select Cheat
Go to the Ghosts ’N Goblins title screen and hold down Right on the d-pad. Now press the B button three times and then press Up on the d-pad.
Remove your finger from the d-pad and press B three more times. Press Left on the d-pad and release, then tap B another three times. Press Down on the d-pad and release, then press B three times yet again. Lastly, press the Start button.
Input this code successfully and congratulations, you can skip to any stage you want in Ghosts ’N Goblins! This is a great cheat for when you want to show friends different areas of the game in quick fashion, or if you’re stuck on stage 2 and don’t want to rage quit. Heck, perhaps you really love stage 5 and enjoy replaying it over and over. Whatever the reason, this level select cheat is a beautiful thing.
