Among the hundreds of animal species in Red Dead Redemption 2, there are several Legendary animals that players can hunt and kill for crafting materials. Pelts and hides from legendary animals can be sold for a hefty sum or used to create powerful gear to enhance your capabilities. One of the legendary animals you’ll want to track down is the Bharati Grizzly Bear, whose pelt can be used to create a rather intimidating Bear Hunter outfit. We’ll explain how to hunt and kill the Legendary Bharati Grizzly Bear in Red Dead Redemption 2 and where to take its valuable pelt afterwards.
How to Kill the Legendary Bharati Grizzly Bear
As you can imagine, taking down the Legendary Bharati Grizzly Bear in Red Dead Redemption 2 is no easy feat. You’ll need to come prepared if you want to hunt and kill this legendary beast to retrieve its pelt. Before you decide to pursue the grizzly bear, we suggest saving the game manually to ensure you can pick up where you left off if something goes awry.
You are first given the option to go on a bear hunt during the quest titled “Exit Pursued by a Bruised Ego,” which is also the quest that allows you to obtain a Horse Brush. During the quest, you will have to choose whether to split up or leave behind some bait instead. Near the end of the quest, you can choose to stay to hunt the bear if you wish. However, you should be able to come back to this area to hunt the bear later if you would rather wait until you are better equipped.
Before going hunting, make sure you bring along a long-scoped rifle with some High Velocity or Express rounds or another long-ranged weapon, such as a bow with Improved Arrows. It’s good to do some research on the type of animal you’re hunting first by browsing through the Compendium to ensure you come prepared.
When you’re ready for the hunt, return to the mission area to pursue the bear with Hosea. Scan the area using Eagle Eye (LS/L3 + RS/R3) to search for tracks or other clues that point to the bear’s whereabouts. Follow the clues until you track down the bear, and make sure it doesn’t see you.
With the bear in sight, activate your Dead Eye ability, then aim at the bear’s head with your sniper rifle or bow and arrow. Line up your shot, and fire away when ready. Try to get as many headshots off as possible so that the bear goes down quickly (if you’re going for a Gold Medal, make sure to hit the bear at least six times). The last thing you want is to have the bear rush toward you at the last minute.
Once you have defeated the Legendary Bharati Grizzly Bear, skin it to obtain its legendary pelt, then lay the pelt on your horse. If you’re looking to craft the Legendary Bear Head Hat or other parts of The Bear Hunter outfit, you’ll have to make a trip to find the Trapper, who will allow you to craft special gear from legendary pelts and hides like this one. You’ll need to have some cash on you as well, so make sure you know the best ways to earn money so that you can afford the Trapper’s services.
