Walmart is notorious for not being able to keep a gaming secret and has been privy to more than one major leak in recent years. Bethesda's Rage 2 was one of those leaky boat victims when Walmart Canada mistakingly leaked an entire list of titles that were set to be revealed during E3 2018. While Bethesda themselves laughed it off, it was a major moment spoiled for what would be the biggest part of their showcase, and now Walmart themselves are poking fun at the error by making themselves the butt of a very clever marketing joke.

We weren't the only ones laughing at it either. Fellow Twitter users couldn't help but to feel a little bit of respect for the clever promo:

One user even joked, "When's the next Walmart Direct?" It's funny because it definitely wasn't a one-time occurance and usually centered around a pretty big IP. Still, the best way to move on is to embrace that it happened and then let it go. Usually with a funny meme that we can all laugh at. That's always the better route.

As for Rage 2, the upcoming open-world wasteland is poised to launch on May 14, 2019 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. For more about the game before its launch:

"An asteroid has annihilated 80% of the earth's population, and humanity's numbers are dwindling. Ruthless and bloodthirsty gangs roam the open roads and the tyrannical Authority seek to rule with an iron fist. As Walker, the last Ranger of the wasteland and a threat to their power, you have been robbed of your home and left for dead. Now you'll have to rage for justice and freedom. With ludicrous vehicle combat, super-powered first-person mayhem, and an open world full of emergent madness, you will tear across an unforgiving wasteland battling sadistic gangs to find the tools and tech needed to crush the oppressive rule of The Authority once and for all."
