Most Wanted Predator Fatalities in Mortal Kombat X

Scorpion’s head would make the ultimate trophy!

WB Games and developer NetherRealm Studios shocked the video game world with the announcement that horror icon Jason Voorhees would be playable in Mortal Kombat X via downloadable content. Considering it’s something fans wanted for years, we didn’t think it could get much better than bringing Hollywood’s machete-wielding, goalie mask-wearing killer to the MK universe.

Then we found out the Predator will join him.

That’s right, the “get to thee choppa” Predator, aka the galaxy’s ultimate hunter, will mix it up with the likes of Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Johnny Cage. Unfortunately like Jason, all of his moves remain a mystery, including the Predator’s unique Fatalities.

Providing NetherRealm sticks to the Predator lore, we already have an idea of the types of moves this character will possess, especially considering all of the weapons from the films. We have a good feeling that players will definitely make use of the Plasma Caster, Wrist Blades and Smart Disc, for example.

With that in mind, we tore through the Predator movies and chose our favorite kills that would make outstanding Mortal Kombat X Fatalities.

Skull and spinal column yank, Predators

Most of the deaths in Predators are mostly straightforward, aside from Laurence Fishburne’s character getting obliterated with a single Plasma Caster shot. This death, however, made us scream out loud and cover our mouths in disgust.

Let’s face it, Walton Goggins’ character, Stans, had it coming. Not only was he a wanted criminal, but he made life hell for everyone on the alien planet. But this? Brutal. The Predator gets him on the ground, casually walks up to the dude and rips out his spinal column and skull in one swift motion. Mortal Kombat worthy, without question.

Plasma Caster shot through the head, Predator

Mac’s death is one of the coolest scenes from the original Predator, and it’s also the one we have the biggest problem with; begin watching at 1:40.

There’s the amazing killshot, with the Plasm Caster’s three-red dots slowly traveling up Mac’s arm and eventually resting upon his forehead. From there, the camera shifts to behind his head, which basically explodes. A short while later, we see Mac’s dead body and somehow his head is almost perfectly intact!

We know the Plasma Caster can cleanly puncture targets, but based on the previous scene, the Predator decorated that jungle with Mac’s brains. Once again, check out Laurence Fishburne’s annihilation in Predators as a reminder of the damage this little baby can do.

Basically, there has to be a Fatality with the Plasma Caster in MKX.

Death by Smart Disc, Predator 2

Predator 2’s great because it’s so 90s. We can’t imagine this movie existing in another decade. Beyond that, the film introduced us to some new alien weapons, chief among the razor sharp Smart Disc that works like a Frisbee, except it cuts through almost everything it touches. Scumbag Peter Keyes (played by Gary Busey) learns this the hard way while battling the Predator in a slaughterhouse; start watching at 2:46.

In this classic scene, the Predator puts the Smart Disc in motion and viewers watch as it effortlessly passes through hunks of meat and eventually Keyes. You don’t see everything; there’s some meat obscuring the top half, but it’s obvious he gets sliced in two.

Given the creativity with MK Fatalities these days, one throw of a Smart Disc won’t cut it, so NetherRealm would have to combine it with the Wrist Blades or Combi-Stick.
