Capcom’s original Resident Evil for PlayStation features chests for players to store items and weapons, which magically appear inside every similar chest in the game. The same can be said of Minecraft’s Ender Chest, easily one of the most useful objects a player can craft. This feature will tell you how to build Ender Chests to avoid losing items if/when you die.
If you intend to craft lots of stuff, Ender Chests are essential. The last thing you want to do is lose a huge chunk of your inventory because of an accident. Think of an Ender Chest as a branch of a bank, where you deposit money in one location and then withdraw it from someplace else.
That said, all Ender Chests in Minecraft are connected. Drop items in one chest and you’ll be able to retrieve these objects from another somewhere else. Unfortunately you won’t find them lying around the world. Instead you need to craft Ender Chests using eight Obsidian and one Eye of Ender. The latter does not exist naturally in Minecraft. In order to craft an Eye of Ender, you need Blaze Powder and one Ender Pearl.
Once you have one or more Ender Chests, place these item boxes near mining operations far from home, in the Nether and The End. Frequently drop items inside and you won’t lose them if you tumble into lava or get blown apart by a surprise Creeper; similar to the real world, death is a part of life in Minecraft. In fact, you can break an Ender Chest to put it into your inventory, then place it down again. Since items put inside Ender Chests exist within Ender space, you won’t risk losing them.
To obtain Obsidian, look for it in the world or create some by dropping a bucket of water onto some lava; you will then need to mine this resource using a Diamond Pickaxe. Thankfully we’ll tell you all about diamonds.
Keep in mind Ender Chests aren’t as useful in Hardcore mode. Die in Hardcore mode and it’s a true game over from the beginning. Yes, the beginning of the game, as in wow, you need to build a shelter to survive the first night.
