Madden Franchise Clears 99 Million Copies Sold

We haven't even gotten to the 25th anniversary edition yet.

EA Sports, working up as much hype for its Madden franchise as it can leading into the Super Bowl this Sunday, was more than happy to share sales numbers from the series, indicating that its popularity isn’t going to die down anytime soon.

The company has confirmed that the franchise has sold over 99 million copies, driving $3.7 billion in net revenue.  That’s a startling number – but what’s even more surprising is that it’s not its most popular sports franchise.  The FIFA series managed to cross the 100 million barrier back in 2010 – and its numbers are on the rise as well.

Regardless, EA’s sports division is thriving across the board, and with the company’s announcement of Madden 25 – a name change from the usual Madden NFL “insert year here” – should have players excited when the season kicks off again on August 27th.

We should see some kind of ad for the game during the course of the Super Bowl, maybe even sooner.  We’ll let you know what we see.

In the meantime, congrats EA Sports!  Here’s to another year of fine sports action.
