Fire Emblem Switch, Heroes, Echoes – Direct Recap

Find out the latest on three upcoming Fire Emblem titles.

Today’s Fire Emblem Direct focused on three new Fire Emblem games coming to the Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS and Nintendo 3DS. Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia will arrive on the 3DS May 19, 2017, while Fire Emblem Heroes will release on Android platforms on February 2, 2017. Unfortunately the untitled Fire Emblem Nintendo Switch game will not hit store shelves until sometime in 2018.

Fire Emblem Heroes is a tactical role-playing game for the Anroid platform that will eventually come to iOS devices at some point in the future. The game somewhat resembles the Final Fantasy Tactics series, with in-app purchases shown to range in price from $1.99 up to $19.99. Battles will take place on an 8×6 grid and potential players can pre-register for release alerts tomorrow.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is a re-imagining of the classic title, Fire Emblem Gaiden. The original Fire Emblem Gaiden was released exclusively in Japan for the original Nintendo Entertainment System (Famicom) back in 1992. This time around the game features dual protagonists in the form of Alm and Celica who just happen to be taking part in a war that’s dividing the continent of Valentia. Fans will be able to pick up Amiibo figures of the duo when the game launches on May 19th.

The Nintendo Switch Fire Emblem does not yet have an official title, but the game is scheduled to release sometime in 2018. It’s been quite some time since the last home console Fire Emblem game (Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn back in 2007), but considering the Switch is a handheld and home console, it shouldn’t be surprising to see a new Fire Emblem for the platform.

We’ll have more on all three of these Fire Emblem games, as well as Fire Emblem Warriors that was announced at the Nintendo Switch launch event last week. So keep an eye on Prima Games!
