Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia – Cure Fatigue, What is Fatigue

Learn more about the Fatigue system in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.

One of the biggest changes that Fire Emblem Echoes features is the inclusion of explorable 3D dungeons. Inside these dungeons players can discover secrets, find cool loot, and even take on other enemies in traditional RPG-like encounters. The dungeons are crawling with baddies waiting to take their shot at you, and when encountered traditional Fire Emblem battles launch, placing the players and the enemy units on Fire Emblem’s beloved grid-based combat maps. Exploring and battling enemies wears your party down, though, and they begin to become fatigued. In this article we’ll break down the Fatigue system in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, explain how it works, and show you how to cure it.

What is Fatigue?

Fatigue is a somewhat nasty status effect that player’s units can acquire while exploring dungeons in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. When a unit becomes Fatigued, its total pool of health points is cut in half, putting that unit as a serious disadvantage in any future battles within the dungeon. Since this status effect puts players at such a disadvantage, we’d suggest taking care of it as quickly as possible. Thankfully, there are quite a few ways to cure Fatigue and get your units back to the top of their game.

How to Cure Fatigue

Curing Fatigue can sometimes be as simply as eating a piece of food from your unit’s inventory. Each of the various foods you come across during your journey—whether it’s cold soup, bread, or even an orange—has a Fatigue Rank, which determines how much of your unit’s Fatigue bar it restores. These are especially handy if you’re exploring large dungeons, but it should also be noted that food items are not unlimited, and you don’t want to waste them all in one dungeon. Instead, try to bring higher level units into the dungeon so that they last longer before becoming Fatigued.

The second way to cure Fatigue is to visit a Mila statue, which can usually be found near the back of the various dungeons and shrines that you visit. You may have noticed this option in the list that appears when you visited the Mila statue in the Thieves’ Shrine near Ram Village, right after starting Alm’s journey toward the Deliverance hideout. At Mila statues you can give an offering to the Goddess, and give up an item to cure all of your units of Fatigue all at once. We’d suggest waiting until more than one unit is Fatigued to use the Mila statue cure, but it is always an option.
