Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete Getting 4K Ultra HD Remaster

It’ll also have new Dolby Atmos audio.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children doesn’t feel like it came out all that long ago, at least to us, but nearly 20 years have passed since the original film’s debut in 2005 (16 years ago this August to be exact).

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete for Blu-ray came out a little later, in 2009, and added 25 more minutes of content to help expand upon the film’s story. Of the two, Advent Children Complete is certainly the better way to enjoy Advent Children in our opinion.

And if you’re looking for a reason to go back and rewatch Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete, or you simply want to check it out for the first time, it was recently confirmed that a 4K Ultra HD remaster is coming June 8.

If you’re looking for a movie to check out this summer, Sony Pictures has you covered with a 4K Ultra HD remaster of 2005’s Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete. It’s available for pre-order right now with a release date of June 8, 2021.

Visuals aside, the 4K Ultra HD remaster of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete will also have new Dolby Atmos audio, so you can enjoy the film’s phenomenal soundtrack from Nobuo Uematsu (with that version of One-Winged Angel) in all its glory.

And, to excite Final Fantasy fans even further, the 4K remaster of Advent Children is scheduled to release two days before the launch of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on June 10.

For those who may be unfamiliar with Advent Children’s ties to the story of Final Fantasy VII, it’s set two years after the events of the game. Below, we’ve included the short description for the film as provided by the official website

“Continuing the storyline based on the hit PlayStation game Final Fantasy VII, two years have passed since the ruins of Midgar stand as a testament to the sacrifices made in order to bring peace.

However, the world will soon face a new menace. A mysterious illness is spreading fast. Old enemies are astir. And Cloud, who walked away from the life of a hero to live in solitude, must step forward yet again…”

For an even better idea as to what to expect from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete, Sony Pictures has uploaded the first 10 minutes of the film on YouTube and we’ve embedded the video at the bottom of this article if you want to check it out.

Again, the 4K Ultra HD remaster of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete is scheduled to release on June 8 with pre-orders available now. One June 10, Final Fantasy fans can also look forward to the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade for PlayStation 5.
