Despite this, people who own Super Mario 3D All-Stars have expressed relief that inverted camera controls are finally being added to the game, and they’ve lamented the fact that it’s taken this long to add them in the first place.

Inverted Camera Controls Coming to Super Mario 3D All-Stars

In a tweet from Nintendo of America, it was confirmed that a free software update for Super Mario 3D All-Stars is coming on November 17 that adds inverted camera controls for all three games in the collection.

Yes, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy will all support inverted camera controls once the 1.1.0 update is released.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars has been met with criticism in regards to it taking this long to add things like inverted camera controls, and for the fact that the collection is only available for purchase for a limited period of time.

As per the eShop page for Super Mario 3D All-Stars:

“The physical version of Super Mario 3D All-Stars (released Sept. 18) will continue to be shipped to retailers and available for purchase through March 31, 2021 or while supplies last. The digital edition will be available through March 31, 2021. Once the digital edition has been purchased on your Nintendo Account, it can be re-downloaded and played if deleted from your device.”

It’s an interesting marketing tactic on Nintendo’s end. Some gamers have been alright with this decision, and others less so.

It’s an interesting topic to discuss and everyone seems to have strong opinions about the game being available for a short period of time, and about whether the collection is worth the $59.99 purchase price.

It’s possible that Nintendo may bring Super Mario 3D All-Stars back after that date if enough people ask for it, but there’s no guarantee this will happen.

As such, it’s recommended that if you want Super Mario 3D All-Stars, you buy it before March 31, 2021.

If you already own a copy of the game, you can look forward to the 1.1.0 update that adds inverted camera controls to all three titles in the collection on November 17.
