Original Devil May Cry Is Coming To Nintendo Switch

Go back to where it all began with the original Devil May Cry on Nintendo Switch.

Devil May Cry 5 was a smashing success, likened to “coming home” from long-time fans of the Capcom franchise. For many, it was a continuation of fan favorites, for some – it was their first step into the series beloved by many. For those that have a Nintendo Switch, they can relive what made this franchise one for the ages, because the first game is coming to hybrid console from the Big N.

Needless to say I wasn’t the only one losing my mind over the franchise announcement. Though I still have the original, being able to play on the Switch would be an incredible new way to experience the story once more – and we definitely weren’t alone in that sentiment:

So now that Dante has officially invaded the Nintendo-verse, this means that he’ll be coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate eventually … right? We can dream.

Missed out on the game when it first released during the PlayStation 2 era? Here’s what you need to know:

“Play as Dante, half-man, half-demon, who’s armed with a sword and a wide array of other firearms. You will have full, ultra-responsive 3-D control of Dante as you combat with fist, sword, gun, and a stunning variety of martial arts moves that recall Hong Kong action films. You will have at your disposal many inventive moves: use your sword to pop your enemy into the air, for example, then juggle him with blasts from your gun. You will have unprecedented control of the direction and force of your sword and other weapons. You will battle marionette butchers, carnivorous lizardmen, and scissor-wielding wraiths in a series of responsive, fully realized environments, such as dilapidated courtyards, hanging gardens, twisted mirror realities, ghost ships, and caves.”
