The Destiny 2 Ascendant Challenges are weekly activities that have you exploring the Dreaming City and seeing what secrets it holds. In each one, you break through the line between realms and get to witness the dark goings-on of the other realms. They rotate every week in a 6-week cycle and that brings us back to the very first challenge once more. Here is how you can find, unlock, and beat the Ascendant Challenge.
How To Start The Challenge
Before you go looking for the challenge you need to make sure you have a Tincture of Queensfoil. This is what you need to actually be able to get into the challenge. If you want to get one for free you can get one as a drop from anywhere in The Dreaming City. Just spend some time doing Public Events and other map activities and you should eventually come into possession of one. it isn’t a common drop, but if you’re playing anyway then it shouldn’t be an issue. If you’re not in the mood to grind then you can buy one for Huginn in the Harbinger’s Seclude for 50 Baryon Boughs.
After this, make sure you get the Weekly Bounty from Petra. Without this, you’ll miss out on the best part of the loot once you’ve finished it. Once you’ve done both of these things then you’re ready to take on the challenge itself.
The Challenge
The first thing you need to do is head to Aphelion’s Rest in The Strand. This is an area within The Dreaming City and is one of the Lost Sectors. Fight your way through the area and, after you’ve used the Tincture of Queensfoil you’ll find the portal in the final room on your left.
Once you’ve entered the portal you’ll be thrown into the challenge itself. Your aim is to take out the Taken Blights in the area. These are dotted around on the edge of the map so make sure to use good use of cover and just take them one at a time. Once you’ve taken them out you will get a message that just reads “An opportunity”, this is your cue to head back to the centre of the room. Once there, you need to smash all of the crystals, just remember to take out the enemies when you need to do so as well. Once you’ve done this you will have completed this week’s Ascendant Challenge.
