Beyond Good and Evil 2 Still Coming… But To Next Gen Consoles

Looks like the current hardware that's out now isn't powerful enough for the proposed sequel.

The original Beyond Good and Evil saw a high-definition re-release on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network, and is definitely one of the more captivating games you can download today.  Today, creator Michel Ancel was happy to confirm that the second installment in the series is still very much in the works… though you’re not likely to see it for this generation of games.

“We are in an active creation stage and at this moment, we are only focusing on the game and making it the best game that we can,” said Ancel, in a video interview you can find here.  “I can say that it’s a very ambitious game and we need some tech to achieve that ambition.  We focus on the game.  We create it first, then we’ll see what can run it.  We don’t say 2013 because we don’t know when it will come.  We’re working to create a great game and it needs more tech.”

In other words, current game systems aren’t likely to run Beyond Good and Evil 2 like Ancel has in mind.  But at least it’s still being worked on!  Be sure to check back for more information soon.  We need more Pey’j!
