When the Battlefield 4 news rains, it pours. Just the other day we told you about the Dragon's Teeth DLC going live this July 15 for Premium members, and today we're back with a hat trick of Battlefield news that should put fans of the franchise in a chipper mood.
For starters, DICE has just announced a summer festival called Battlefest. An event that will run from July 12 until August 13. Each day, players will be asked to submit Battleshots. Essentially just in-game screen captures, these daily contests will give players a theme, then ask that they capture an image from their game and submit it for consideration. Each daily winner will receive an AMD graphics card, $50 gift card to the DICE store, and a Battlefield 4 Premium membership on the platform of their choice. You can find the Full Contest Rules here if you're interested, which we suspect you are.
Aside from the contest above, Battlefest will include several other incentives which we've listed below.
Free Camouflage Unlocks
Each week we will be releasing a free camouflage in-game for all players. This will give you more ways to standout on the battlefield.
As noted above, we’re kicking Battlefest off with a double XP weekend and we’re definitely going to end with one too for all players to reap the benefits.
Each week we will be hosting a global community challenge to reach a specific goal in-game. If you reach the goal, everyone who logs in will receive a free gold Battlepack the following week. The first mission starts on July 15, 2014, where you will have to collectively reach 15 million revives across all platforms, with the mission ending on the eve of July 20, 2014.
Stunt Video Competition
This is a month long contest where we are asking you to send us your best stunt video that can only be done in Battlefield 4. Once we receive the submissions, the DICE team will pick the top 12 and then you, the fans, will vote on the top three winners to win a massive prize. Read the Full Contest Rules.
Continuing on to news item number two, Visceral Games recently released a few fun facts that they gathered from the Battlefield Hardline beta that wrapped up a short time ago. While none of it is really essential knowledge, it does give players a fun look at some of the shenanigans that were had stealing money and blowing up motor vehicles. They even provided this nifty infographic to illustrate some hypothetical dollar values based on the chaos.
Lastly, on July 8, DICE released the latest game update for Battlefield 4. From stomping out common bugs to introducing new game modes, there's a little bit of something for everyone. While each platform does have their own patch notes, we're going to share the PS4 version with you below (because we're bias like that), but you can read all about any platform you'd like Right Here. While there are a few differences, the PS4 version will give all players a good idea of what to expect.
