It’s Friday, which means it’s End of the Week recap time! For those unfamiliar with what our End of the Week recap features are or are for, they’re basically an “in case you missed it” resource where we curate interesting and informative articles published during the week.

What next gen consoles did you get, and what do you think of them?
I’m one of the lucky few who got both. They’re pretty different experiences! The PS5 does feel like a whole new platform, while the Series X definitely feels like part of a “Series.” Both are fine, and playing games on them has been a blast.
Have you been gravitating more towards the Xbox Series X | S or PS5?
The Series X for sure. Having access to all generations of software is just too good. I just really hope they step on the gas with expanding the list.
What games have you been playing to test out your new console(s)?
On the Xbox side I have Valhalla and Like a Dragon, both of which run super well. And of course, whatever’s on Game Pass. Tetris Effect is great! For PS5 I just picked up Miles Morales, but have mostly been using it to play PS4 Musou games. Dragon Quest Heroes with a smooth frame rate is a wonderful thing.
Any accessory recommendations for people to pair with their new consoles?
The battery pack I used with my Xbox One X controller fits in my Series X pad (albeit the door won’t click back on). So I’d reccommend seeing if the stuff you already have works first. I’m not much of an aceessory person otherwise.
Favorite piece on the site this week, and why?
Jesse kicked ass on those Bugsnax guides, lemme tell ya. For me, I just had a blast having an excuse to write about No More Heroes, so I’ll point to the boss guide there.
What games are you playing this weekend?
Something I’m super excited about on the Switch I can’t name just yet, and probably just popping random discs into my new boxes to see what runs better. Sadly my celebratory hard copy of Sonic Unleashed won’t be here until Monday.
Watching anything interesting (movies, TV) this weekend?
I doubt it! Not enough hours in the day for all this crap.
As a fun little bonus question, what’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever encountered in a game?
Capcom making the A button shoot in the GameCube version of Mega Man Anniversary Collection. Who did this and why?

I got both an Xbox Series X and a PlayStation 5. Both are pretty awesome pieces of tech and I’m just really happy they are quiet. (Except the PlayStation 5’s disc drive which is so damn loud)
Have you been gravitating more towards the Xbox Series X | S or PS5?
I’ve been playing more PlayStation 5 primarily because all of my friends got one too. So that’s where I’ll be playing Call of Duty and other multiplayer games.
What games have you been playing to test out your new console(s)?
On my Xbox I’ve been playing a ton of Tetris effect Connected and my PlayStation 5 has mostly been used for Astro’s playroom and Demon’s Souls.
Any accessory recommendations for people to pair with their new consoles?
I’m not huge on accessories, but I think that the new PlayStation 5 headset looks pretty dope. Might have to get one for myself soon.
Favorite piece on the site this week, and why?
Morgan’s feature about the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla cats was a good one. Also Lucas’ No More Heroes Boss Guide rules. I have to play that game again.
What games are you playing this weekend?
Working my way through Demon’s Souls and playing Call of Duty multiplayer with some friends.
Watching anything interesting (movies, TV) this weekend?
No time to watch anything, I have a charity stream to run tomorrow!
As a fun little bonus question, what’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever encountered in a game?
Hmm, I’ve played a lot of games, but truly the weirdest thing I’ve ever encountered in a game was that MLB glitch a few years ago where everyone’s face looked like a Bloodborne monster. Baseball games aren’t supposed to be scary, but this glitch ma nightmares for weeks.

What next gen consoles did you get, and what do you think of them?
I got the PS5 and Xbox Series X. I like both, although I will say that I like the DualSense controller a little better than the Series X controller and I think the size of the PS5 is just… it’s big. It’s very reminiscent of the PS3.
Have you been gravitating more towards the Xbox Series X | S or PS5?
At first I was drawn to the Xbox Series X for Tetris Effect: Connected and Dirt 5, but now I’ve been sucked into Spider-Man Miles Morales on PS5. The experience is out of this world.
What games have you been playing to test out your new console(s)?
For Xbox Series X, the aforementioned Tetris Effect and Dirt 5. For PS5, Spider-Man Miles Morales and I downloaded Ghost of Tsushima to test out as well.
Any accessory recommendations for people to pair with their new consoles?
A good TV to deliver that premium 4K experience for each console. Other than that, some spare rechargeable batteries for the Series X controller and a second DualSense controller to use while the other is charging.

Jesse did an amazing job on the Bugsnax guides, and Lucas locked it down with his No More Heroes guides!
What games are you playing this weekend?
Spider-Man Miles Morales, and probably more Tetris Effect: Connected because you know me and Tetris, I can’t keep myself away from it.
Watching anything interesting (movies, TV) this weekend?
I want to re-watch Constantine with Keanu Reeves since they announced Constantine 2 might be happening. That’d be wild if it did.
As a fun little bonus question, what’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever encountered in a game?
Playing through F.E.A.R. 2 the first time and encountering the “you’re like pizza in an anime convention, she can smell you, and she wants to consume you” line. The ending of F.E.A.R. 2 also counts. Gotta love the F.E.A.R. series.
