How do you feel about the Director’s Cut for Ghost of Tsushima, are you interested in checking it out?

Ehhhhh? Ghost of Tsushima didn’t hit me like it did lots of other folks, but perhaps the extra PS5 juice will help. I’m glad you don’t have to totally rebuy a new disc; these upgrade options are making the generation transition feel better.

What are your thoughts on Sony’s latest acquisitions like Housemarque and Nixxes Software?

Housemarque has had a rough time despite releasing such cool games over the years, so it’s nice to see some possible stability head that way. But also, if Housemarque continues dropping great games to less great sales I don’t see Sony not shutting it down eventually. Weird situation.

I don’t know enough about the other company to say much, but it’s interesting to see the announcements look like a blue-colored version of Xbox’s. It’s like the PlayStation Move all over again.

Konami and Bloober Team are doing something, what do you think they’re working on? Do you think it’s Silent Hill, or something else?

It’s definitely Silent HIll. But I’m not sure if it’s, you know, Silent Hill. Konami is definitely getting ready to stomp back into videogames, and it seems like outsourcing IP is the theme. But I doubt whatever Bloober Team is working on is a “core” entry, or if that is even something that could exist for this series.

But I believe the talk that a Japanese game is also in development, and I see that take precedent in terms of “canon.” Of course I could be totally wrong, and Bloober is about to hit us with the Bomberman: Act Zero sequel we never knew we wanted.

Thoughts on the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster?

Ugh y’all, I am so conflicted on this. On one hand, this kind of undertaking has been a long time overdue. Classic Final Fantasy reviits have been all over the place so far, and seeing the whole set come out in a new houe style has me excited. But also, why the heck is it being released the way it is?

It’s like the bad PR is baked right in. But we don’t know what the future holds. I’m especially stoked about Final Fantasy III being localized for the first time in its more traditional form.

Favorite piece(s) on the site this week, and why?

Jesse has been hype about Death’s Door forever and it rubbed off on me; super glad he got to play it and share the deets.

Are you playing any fun or exciting video games this weekend?

I don’t even know anymore. I’m still plugging away at a few games, but I’m so exhausted from moving I can’t look that far ahead. But hey, who knows!

Do you have any TV, movie, anime, or music recommendations that you’d like to share?

I’m very caught up with the world, and what’s cool in the moment. So naturally I’ve started watching Demon Slayer. You know, years after the fact. It starts off a little dull, but high production values shot my interest way up on the third-ish episode. That said, I’m still waiting to see why it was such a meteor strike of a series.

Bonus question, give us one of your favorite spicy gaming takes!

Yeah okay, how about this one: the only good Metal Gear with good storytelling is Revengeance. How’s that taste?

How do you feel about the Director’s Cut for Ghost of Tsushima, are you interested in checking it out?

I’m interested in checking it out. I liked the game quite a bit and the new story content has me ready for more.

What are your thoughts on Sony’s latest acquisitions like Housemarque and Nixxes Software?

It makes a lot of sense. Returnal was a big hit for them and in their growing efforts to try and make PC ports it’s time to get a developer who specializes in that.

Konami and Bloober Team are doing something, what do you think they’re working on? Do you think it’s Silent Hill, or something else?

Silent Hill would be cool, but I also would love to see them do something entirely new and unique. I’m not always a huge fan of bringing older properties back. I always more interested in the new.

Thoughts on the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster?

They need to change that godamn font.

Favorite piece(s) on the site this week, and why?

Morgan has been killing it with the Fortnite guides. Seriously, like if you need help with Fortnite check out those guides.

Are you playing any fun or exciting video games this weekend?

I’ve been working my way through Chicory: A Colorful Tale and it is delightful.

Do you have any TV, movie, anime, or music recommendations that you’d like to share?

I’m still on a huge MasterChef binge so I recommend y’all watch more MasterChef.

Bonus question, give us one of your favorite spicy gaming takes!

Super Mario Sunshine is a very bad video game.

How do you feel about the Director’s Cut for Ghost of Tsushima, are you interested in checking it out?

I’m excited and am definitely planning to check it out. Ghost of Tsushima was one of my big GOTYs of 2020 and I can’t wait to see how absolutely gorgeous it looks on PS5.

What are your thoughts on Sony’s latest acquisitions like Housemarque and Nixxes Software?

I think it’s awesome, and it makes sense they’d want to sweep up talented studios. I’m looking forward to seeing what sort of projects these studios release following the Sony acquisition.

Konami and Bloober Team are doing something, what do you think they’re working on? Do you think it’s Silent Hill, or something else?

I absolutely without a shadow of a doubt think it’s Silent Hill. I’ve been keeping an eye on this for a while and think it’s also possible the rumors about there being two Silent Hill games could be true. One from Bloober Team, one from a Japanese studio.

I think it’d make sense, especially if Bloober is being brought in for a remake rather than creating an entirely new entry in the franchise. We’ll see, though.

Thoughts on the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster?

I don’t have too many thoughts outside of they look cool and I wish I had more time to go in and replay all of the Final Fantasy games from the beginning until now.

I feel like growing up, I missed several of the Final Fantasy games and as a result I often feel out of the loop in places when it comes to the lore and whatnot so yeah… if I had more time I’d probably grab the pixel remaster.

Favorite piece(s) on the site this week, and why?

Lucas’s Legend of Mana interview was amazing, as was Jesse’s preview of Death’s Door, definitely check out both of those features!

Are you playing any fun or exciting video games this weekend?

I saw that Gang Beasts was added to Game Pass so I’ll probably check that out. I’m actually planning to really dig into Game Pass this weekend and perhaps put together a list of some of the best games available on the service right now from a personal opinion standpoint.

There’s honestly so much on Game Pass, it’s hard to know where to begin sometimes.

Do you have any TV, movie, anime, or music recommendations that you’d like to share?

I haven’t really been watching much of anything lately, but as always I’ve been keeping up on my new k-pop releases and have a recommendation for “Make It” from 2PM. They’re one of the few remaining 2nd gen k-pop groups and… yeah, it’d take me a really long time to go into 2nd gen, 3rd gen, what the time frame of all of those are, etc. so I won’t lol.

If I can get away with writing an article explaining k-pop over the years for Prima though I’ll absolutely do it. It doesn’t make sense for Prima specifically, but I can guarantee it’d be a fun article.

Bonus question, give us one of your favorite spicy gaming takes!

I talked a bit about this on Twitter recently, but I do think there’s a need for review scores still. Should the industry modernize and find a better way? Absolutely. Right now, I just feel like we’re not quite there yet, but there are some outlets doing amazing work with the way they do reviews and I love them all.
