As an avid Ghost Recon Wildlands player, the big reveal of Ubisoft's latest Tom Clancy game, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, was exciting! Even more exciting was getting a chance to play with the devs in addition to interviewing the executive producer of the game. You can see the full interview in the video above, but I really wanted to highlight how Ghost Recon Breakpoint plays following the latest free content drop in Wildlands that bridges the gap between the two titles.

Everything in Breakpoint feels like Wildlands but made to be even better. From the addition of new weaponry to the awesome new Prone Camo feature, Breakpoint is the perfect continuation of what fans loved so much from its predecessor without feeling like too much of the same game.

The game's main antagonist, played by The Punisher's Jon Bernthal, started out as a friend in the latest Wildlands DLC until players were betrayed by him, only to find out that he was an enemy of the Ghosts. Breakpoint takes that plot twist and takes it even further, providing an edge to the gameplay experience that very much feels reliant on vengeance. That element, to me, felt incredible - it made the gameplay personal, made the narrative touching, and really made me want to kick ass and take names.

The inclusion of the Prone Camo was also an amazing addition because it really puts a more strategic edge on an already strategic shooter. There was one moment during my gameplay that had an enemy helo coming in hot and I was very close to the edge of death. I found myself near a bed of what looked to be roses, was able to crouch down and activate the Prone Camo prompt that came up, and stealthily hid away from enemy fire right under their noses. This feature makes it easier to be ballsy in-game without being a crutch that makes progression too easy.

Breakpoint is a very fluid next step in the Ghost Recon franchise and I honestly can't wait until other Tom Clancy fans get to see it for themselves. If you like Wildlands, you're going to love Breakpoint!

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is set for an October 4th release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. To learn more about the upcoming title:

"Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a military shooter set in a diverse and hostile open world. The game will be playable solo or in up to four-player co-op. Players will discover Auroa, a mysterious island where the most technically advanced facilities meet wild and untamed nature. Home to tech giant, Skell Technology, Auroa has fallen into the wrong hands and all contact has been lost.

"The Wolves, a lethal ex-US Military unit of former Ghosts gone rogue, have taken over the island. Led by Nomad's ex-brother-in-arms, Lt. Colonel Cole D. Walker, portrayed by Jon Bernthal, they have reprogrammed Skell's drones into killing machines and are ready to use them, no matter the casualties. Nomad and the Ghosts are sent in on a recon mission, but their helicopters are shot down. Injured, without support, and hunted down, players will live an intense military experience as they fight to survive, take down the Wolves and regain control of Auroa."
