Where to Obtain Murmuring Obols in Diablo 4

There are a few ways to obtain Murmuring Obols, with random world events as the most consistent method. It does not matter if you do them solo or in a group, as long as you participate and reach the end. You will encounter these as you travel around Sanctuary, as shown by the orange and red circles on your map when you approach an area. Completing these events grants you a treasure chest with Obols inside.

When completing quests, there is also a chance you will obtain Murmuring Caches, a consumable item that grants you Obols. The Obols will drop to the ground, allowing you to pick them up and gain them in their respective currency slot.

How to Spend Murmuring Obols in Diablo 4

In large towns like Kyovashad, Yelesna and Cerrigar, you will find curiosity vendors, also known as Purveyors of Curiosities, from whom you can purchase goods in exchange for Murmuring Obols. Their main wares are mystery equipment, but you can also buy Whispering Keys to open silent chests.

If you start getting a ton of Obols and run out of carry capacity, heading to one of these vendors and buying some equipment is a great way to spend it. If you are lucky, you might even get some gear upgrades! I remember more times than I can count when I went to a Curiosity Vendor expecting some throwaway loot, only to get a decent amulet or pair of boots to use for a few levels before repeating the process.
